Mr. Lieberman will be an exceptional asset to the Spotsylvania County School Board
To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to offer my recommendation for Rich Lieberman as a member of the
Spotsylvania County School Board and share my experiences collaborating with him
during my tenor with Spotsylvania County Schools. Mr. Lieberman served as a mentor
for high-risk students in Spotsylvania County schools with the Project Link program. In
my role as the coordinator for the program, I have had the privilege of working with
many individuals committed to making a difference in the lives of youth, and Mr.
Lieberman stands out as someone uniquely equipped to provide guidance, support, and
inspiration to students facing significant challenges.
As a mentor, he demonstrated a rare combination of empathy, resilience, and
leadership that is essential for working with high-risk populations. Mr. Lieberman
consistently showed a deep understanding of the complex social and emotional needs
of the students in the program and approached each interaction with patience,
compassion, and a genuine desire to help.
One of the most impressive qualities Mr. Lieberman brought to mentorship was his
ability to build trust and rapport. High-risk students often struggle with feelings of
isolation or mistrust, but Mr. Lieberman had a natural talent for creating safe, supportive
environments where students felt seen, heard, and valued. He also possessed effective
communication skills and a calm, steady presence that helped students navigate
demanding situations and develop positive coping strategies.
In addition to his interpersonal strengths, Mr. Lieberman was highly organized,
dependable, and committed to continuous learning. He actively sought opportunities to
gain experience as a mentor and was always willing to go the extra mile to ensure
students received the support they needed.
I am confident that Mr. Lieberman will be an exceptional asset to the Spotsylvania
County School Board. He has my highest recommendation, and I am happy to provide
further information if needed.
Sincerely,
Shannon N. Scott Barham
